A furnace filter works as an individual component connected to the air intake heating system of a house and is designed to trap particles dust in the air to avoid damaging the motor, fan and coil that are essential operation. The scope of furnace filters has grown to include to filter the indoor air in homes to improve indoor air quality.
As for the furnace, the absence of a furnace filter will result in the system obstruction and choking dust. This in turn puts a strain on the engine making it work harder. The motor runs the fan that draws air from the pipe and back blows through the supply conduit to circulate throughout the house. The air is heated by contact with the heating coils before being blown to the supply line. Overload and overheating engine will be burned with time, resulting in a heating accident. The engine itself, with other components such as fans, etc. may be dirty.
A filter is installed in the system to trap dust and other particles in the air before reaching the motor, fan and other important components. Normal material used in a furnace filter is fiberglass. This filter can remain effective for one to three months depending on the quality of air passing through it, then it must be replaced due to clogging. These filters are inexpensive to replace and the effectiveness of the system is restored when a furnace filter is dirty replace it. There are other types of furnace filters available, which cost a bit more, but the highest levels of efficiency. Many pleated elements made with special paper containing micropores that allow the passage of clean air by trapping dust and other particles that transport.
As mentioned above, the furnace filters now have a greater role to play much with environmental concerns, which have become a very important position. Have been redesigned to improve air quality in homes by trapping pollen, dust, dirt, smoke, dust mites, allergens and other indoor pollutants. Manufacturers use different materials for the production of efficient furnace filters, therefore, four types of popular use paper, cotton, synthetic and foam. Some air filters are made of pig hair. All these works capture dust mechanical and contaminants in the air passing through them. Apart from these there are electrostatic filters that use an electrostatic charge ion trap pollutants air. Most filters furnace / air filters available today and can be cleaned and reused, while others must be replaced.
A good and efficient furnace filter is equipped with a unit in your home oven, and components of the protection system. Clean Air is directed to the house. That's because indoor air is recycled through the system and must pass necessarily through the filter that releases most of the pollutants.
The scale on which the effectiveness / efficiency of air filters is measured is known as the MERV represents reporting minimum efficiency. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, how a furnace filter can be evaluated by a benchmark standard set for MERV 13 filters / air filters.
